The PADRES Clinic
The UCSB Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Clinic offers evidence-based treatment for children between the ages of 2 and 7 with challenging behaviors or difficulties managing their emotions.
PCIT is a short-term, specialized program that teaches caregivers to manage their child’s difficult behaviors, while increasing their positive behaviors. PCIT works with the child and caregiver together to improve behavior and promote a positive relationship. Over 30 years of research has demonstrated that PCIT is effective at helping improve behavior problems and reduce parenting stress.
The PCIT Clinic is now delivering services via telehealth in English and Spanish.
Services are offered within the Hosford Counseling and Psychological Services Clinic (https://education.ucsb.edu/hosford). Please call us today at (805) 893-8064 if you believe your family would benefit from PCIT services.
